International Workshop: Phylogeny Meets Genomics

International Workshop organized by Prof. Dr. Martin Parniske, Dr. Andreas Brachmann, Prof. Dr. Barbara Conradt, Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Enard, Prof. Dr. Nicolas Gompel, Klaus Mayer, Ph.D., Prof. Dr. Susanne Renner and Prof. Dr. Claus Schwechheimer.

The availability of whole genome sequences from the entire spectrum of life forms brings about an unprecedented potential for the computation- based identification of entire signalling pathways or developmental as well as metabolic networks. The knowledge about such pathways and networks, in turn, will fuel functional and experimental approaches to address evolutionary questions at an entirely different scale – that of the genome – with a molecular and genomic resolution that has been unthinkable of until very recently. This workshop will explore the potential of comparative genomics at different phylogenetic levels, ranging from the comparison of ecotypes or individuals of the human population, to trans-kingdom genome analysis.
